An Introvert, Thrust Into an Unfamiliar Setting

Red carpets, whitewashed walls,
Unfamiliar rooms, strange halls,
New places always come with trepidation
Awkwardness, quiet and hesitation,
A familiar face is such sharp relief.

Strange faces, new meetings,
Most times, the same old feelings,
New places always come with fear and concerns,
Always the old fears suddenly return,
Once more into that uncertain motif.
