Blue as the midnight sky,
Green as a peacock’s hue,
Clear as a diamond bright,
Cold, white as frost too.
It wears robes of icy blue,
Or purple as a raincloud,
It can appear as an indescribable hue,
Or solid white, a dead man’s shroud.
Shining bright, it sparkles white,
Like crystals in blue,
Or, dull and dark, with a shimmer slight,
It takes on a dark hue.
All in all, water’s hue,
Is difficult to name,
Its colour bright, with enticing light,
Is never quite the same!
